The Amp

Welcome to The Amp, a multidisciplinary art creation and education center in the heart of Dover. We believe that we’re at our most human when we are creating and connecting, so we built this place for creatives and appreciators, learners and teachers.

Whether you’re taking one of our classes, exploring our newest art gallery exhibition, or checking out your favorite band performing on our stage, you’ll love creating and connecting at The Amp.

Art on Blackwell

Sunday, July 26th
Dover Art Week will open with Art on Blackwell — a sidewalk art fest on Blackwell St. at Meridia Transit Plaza. Enjoy live music and art from vendors at this fun creative kickoff!

Sculpture Night

Wednesday, July 29th

Join us for Sculpture Night at The Richards Building on Wednesday! Learn how to sculpt your own masterpiece in the historic Richards Room!

The Basement Bash

To cap off Dover Art Week, The Amp will host the 3rd annual Basement Bash, a rocking party celebrating local creatives! Featuring artist showcasing their work, live music & refreshments! Register Here!

NJEDA Grant Programming at The Amp

We’re grateful to be working with Morris Arts, IDEA Cultural and the Morris County Organization for Hispanic Affairs to host programming funded through the NJEDA as part of its A.R.T. Phase II grant program.

Morris Arts Events

Morris Arts partnered with Life Center Stage to produce two mixed media events: A Space to Create and The Art of Becoming, featuring both art exhibits and performances.

Art Classes by MCOHA

We’re proud to be hosting art classes offered through the Morris County Organization for Hispanic Affairs, including acrylics, doll-making, and more!

IDEA Cultural On Stage

IDEA Cultural has brought talented performers and bands to The Amp, including singer Juan Osorio and the local rock band, Furia, sharing powerful musical experiences with the community!

Art @ The Amp

We’re just getting started here at The Amp but here’s a quick look at what we offer.

Ceramics

Our ceramics center features three dedicated ceramics rooms, two large Skutt electric kilns, Shimpo VL Whisper pottery wheels, and a range of Amaco cone glazes – a haven for both beginner and advanced ceramic artists.

Performing Arts

The Amp contains a flexible black box performance space with up to three stages, perfect for theater, dance, concerts, film screenings, and experimental performance. The stages feature state-of-the-art moving head LED lighting and a powerful, room-filling sound system that provides a rich sensory experience for attendees.

Music

You can practice your chords or review your songs in our music rehearsal rooms or get together with your band in our large recording studio and put out your first album. And, if it’s live music you’re looking for, our stages are perfect for performing or just enjoying a concert.

Visual Arts

Featuring individual visual arts studios and large classrooms, there’s room at The Amp for your work, whether you’re a muralist, origamist, or fashion designer. And, when you’re done with your latest piece, perhaps it’ll be featured in our art gallery.
